What is Wellness On Less?

My name is Stephanie Taylor Christensen and I’m a freelance writer and work at home mom covering the personal finance, small business, career and wellness beats. I founded Wellness On Less in December of 2008 in response to a life crossroads. I had more than ten years of marketing experience under my belt and a Master’s degree in the field, yet I was completely unfulfilled in my profession. My salary was stellar, but once I realized what life with two working parents and a newborn in daycare entails, it was evident that all the money in the world wouldn’t solve my needs. Contrary to what you might expect from a personal finance site, money was just about the only thing I wasn’t lacking. Yes, I’ve been poor, and in debt. I’ve also been quite well off financially. But at the peak of my salary grade, I was completely bankrupt in the sense of time, joy, and life fulfillment. It was at that time that I realized we all have a choice in our lives. What we choose to prioritize ultimately determines the outcome of our lives. That’s the ideology behind Wellness On Less.

As a freelance writer for media outlets like Mint.com, Real Simple, Intuit Small Business, Yahoo! Finance, Bankrate, ForbesWoman and SheKnows, to name just a few, I am always looking to build my connections and learn about new trends in personal finance, small business, career, health and wellness. If you’d like to hire me, have a general inquiry, story idea, or pitch, please contact me at wellnessonless@gmail.com.

For more than a decade I was a marketer for some of the biggest financial and retail brands around. Tired of pursuing money over professional fulfillment and seeking more control over my life, I'm now a freelance writer and work at home covering the small business, personal finance, career, and health and wellness beats. My client list includes RealSimple, ForbesWoman, Mint.com, Intuit Small Business, Intuit GoPayment, Investopedia, SheKnows, Minyanville, and several private clients in the insurance, wealth management and finance sectors.
